Emma is excited to announce that she recently auditioned at several conservatories throughout the Midwest and East Coast!! As this is the next step in the conservatory application process, she was very honored to have been invited to numerous schools to audition. During the month of March, she visited and played for the faculty members of the Indiana University Jacobs School of Music, Oberlin Conservatory, Cleveland Institute of Music, Peabody Institute of Music at Johns Hopkins, the Juilliard School, Eastman School of Music at U Rochester, Mannes School of Music, and the Curtis Institute!!! Emma is very proud and, as the conservatories begin making their decisions, hopes to soon announce where she will be attending next fall! Stay tuned!
Emma is proud to announce that she has submitted college applications to 11 major conservatories, most of them on the East Coast! She is waiting to hear back results from the prescreening round and will find out soon whether she is able to visit each school for a live audition. She is pursuing a degree in piano performance and looks forward to working with the wonderful faculty, wherever she ends up. More to come soon!
Both Emma and Jacob will be performing in the semifinal round of the MN State Fair Talent Competition! Head out to the Leinie Lodge Bandshell for a night of fun entertainment and competition. Jacob will be performing the evening of August 29th, Emma on the 31st. Both will be playing Chopin Etudes. Head out to support and enjoy the fair 🙂

Emma has been announced one of MN Varsity’s five showcase artists!!! A huge thanks to everyone who voted for all their support! She will be appearing at the Showcase Concert on May 11th at Ted Mann Concert Hall at the U of M. She will be performing one of her favorites, Chopin’s Etude in C Minor, Op 25, no 12 (also called the “Ocean Etude”). Emma is so excited to announce that she will be appearing for the third time on the nationally syndicated radio show, From The Top, under guest host Simone Dinnerstein!!! The show will be recorded and filmed at Texas State University in San Marco, Texas, in conjunction with the Texas State Int’l Piano Fesitval, into which Emma was also accepted. It will be recorded in the first week of June and will be aired on National Public Radio shortly thereafter. She will be playing the Liebestraum No 3 in A flat major by Franz Liszt. Emma is excited to announce a full week of concerts next week! She will be appearing alongside the Minnesota Orchestra in Minneapolis’ beautiful Orchestra Hall, performing the Third Movement of Grieg’s Piano Concerto. She is proud to have received this opportunity from the Young People’s Symphony Concert Association Concerto Competition, in which she was awarded first prize. Emma will be heading off this summer to a few prestigious piano festivals around the United States! During the first week of June, she will be at Texas State University attending the Texas State Int’l Piano Festival, which includes lessons and masterclasses with faculty from around the country. Emma is proud to have been chosen from among a talented and diverse pool of high school, college, and graduate level musicians from around the world.
Following TSIPF, she will be heading out to Bowdoin, Maine, to attend the three-week long Bowdoin International Music Festival. There, she will be studying with Juilliard faculty member Matti Raekallio, as well as working and performing with chamber music groups.
One of 24 pianists through age 28, Emma was also accepted to PianoTexas Int’l Academy and Festival (formerly the Van Cliburn Piano Festival). She was awarded a full-ride scholarship!!
Emma is very excited to announce that she has been advanced onto the next round of the International Piano E-Competition. This Minnesota based competition draws in competitors from all around the world, and Emma is very honored to be counted among them. She will fly out to Chicago in early February for the second of five rounds.
Emma will be competing in Bowling Green, Ohio in the David D Dubois Piano Competition on February 2! She will be one of around 25 competitors and is very excited to have made it thus far.
Emma and Jacob just found out that they were chosen to advance to the national round of the MTNA duo-piano competition! They were selected first as the state representatives and competed just recently at the regional level. They are very proud to be chosen as the national representatives of the Midwestern region! They will compete in Spokane, Washington on March 16, playing a variety of duets by Debussy, Liszt, and even a few of Emma’s own arrangements.
